This Thanksgiving, as I reflect on what I am thankful for, I am struck with this thought: I am thankful for the unique way Orange County Rescue Mission makes a difference in our community. Over the years I have seen God provide in so many amazing ways, from our location in the middle of Orange County at the Tustin Legacy in a refurbished military base, to our many fruitful partnerships with leaders in our community, that have aided us as we expand our services.
I am especially thankful for our ability to operate without government funding. This important aspect allows us to offer a faith-based program founded in Jesus Christ, the only One who can truly offer lasting joy and life-change. It is my privilege to lead an organization that is called to minister the love of Jesus Christ. And therefore is able to offer solutions to the challenge of homelessness, bringing restoration to individuals, families and communities.
And finally, I am thankful for YOU. Our donors, volunteers, and community partners are the reason we can do what we do here. Because we do not receive government funding, we rely heavily on the donations and support of others, and I am often overwhelmed and humbled by the way you continue to provide for those in need. I am so thankful for how the Lord continues to use you in the transforming work happening here at the Rescue Mission. YOU are the reason men, women, and children are leaving lives of pain and poverty for lives of joy and hope.
There is much to be thankful for when I think of the way the Lord continues to provide for this ministry! May you and your family be blessed this Thanksgiving for the blessing you are to me and to the Least, Last, and Lost of Orange County.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name! Psalm 100:4
